Expository preaching is a call to deliver from the pulpit what has already been delivered in the Scriptures. A Guide to Expository Ministry, edited by Dan Dumas, calls for the recovery of this kind of preaching in local churches. The book also encourages faithful, qualified pastors to apply the demands of expository preaching to their lives and to their preparation. Lastly, the book provides practical help for all of God's people to become more effective sermon listeners, Bible readers and church members.

This book hits hard. Preach the biblical text. Explain it. Live up to the biblical qualifications of an elder. And listeners have responsibility too. This book carries a powerful message for anyone wanting to make God's word the centerpiece of their sermons. It will inspire you. It will challenge you. Strongly recommended.
An amazing and eye opening book, for both pastors and laymen and women. Reading both portions, those for the preacher and the congregants, has really helped me better prepare myself and my family for worship on Sundays. I thank and Praise God for His word!
Thank you. This is a fresh look at ministry taking the expository idea beyond the pulpit to other avenues of ministry. A challenge go think and function expositionally. .
A superb tool for any or for every new person entering the preaching ministry. I consider this a must have for any new member of the clergy.

I loved this book, it's very encouraging and helpful about those who want to expound the word of God. I'd recommend it!
This is a great read not only for pastor but also for the layman who wants to know more about what the preaching ministry is all about and how to appreciate it and help it as a church member working towards having a healthy church.
I found it to be full of insights about being a preacher.
Good overview of a very important topic. The variety of authors has it's pros and cons. But there is much to learn from this book.
