Though I read this book out of order, it still had an unexpected storyline. We can underestimate the depth of God's forgiveness. In hindsight, we always see that He truly had a plan from the very beginning. We just have to trust Him, as it unfolds.

I enjoyed reading the book. The characters were real and I like the other books set in Eden OK too

This was a very sweet story! Holt, the big brother and protector, didn't quite test Clara. But Clara had many secrets to hide! She was a widow with a one year old son and was on the run. She wasn't a very good liar, and Holt didn't trust her. But in the end he fell in love with her - when the truth came out, he didn't give a wit about the lies!

I'm giving this a five, even though I don't agree with the author's turning the In-Laws around. Like she did the in first book, the family causing all the comotion and problems does a 180. The in-law's were evil and selfish and should have been left that way - not practically giving the blessing!!! Holt and Clara would have won in court without this latest scene.

I loved Ryan - the way he got Holt to admit to him how he felt without revealing just who was listening the whole time!

I cannot wait to read Ryan's story! I just hope there aren't family members who are going to do an "about face" or it will NOT get a five!!!

Her Small Town Hero is the second book in Arlene James' Eden, OK series. The first book, His Small Town Girl, was excellent and this book surpassed that! Cara, the heroine, describes Holt, our hero, as a "good Christian man with a big heart and broad shoulders." Definitely a guy you can fall in love with. And Cara (beautiful name by the way) is a heroine you can cheer for - brave, independent, and loving. Their story will hold not just your attention but your heart as well.

I can't wait for the third story, Their Small Town Love, to be released.

This was a sweet and enduring story about God's unfailing love and perfect timing. Cara is running away from her life, while she is leaving she prays and puts her finger right on Eden Ok. When she arrives she meets Holt who is desperately looking for someone to help run the family inn with him. Both Holt and Cara prayed for a miracle, they just didn't expect it to come from each other!! This was a quick read that kept me guessing and cheering throughout the entire story.

Very good read. This is the 2nd book in the series and I loved both stories. I was encouraged by the story in how God moves in mysterious ways. There were a couple spots where the story moved a little slow causing me to read ahead but I give it a hearty 5 stars. It moved me to tears a couple of times.
