IT WASN'T HIS FIRST DEAD BODY. AND IT MIGHT NOT BE HIS LAST. Barely twenty-four hours after arriving in Broken Bones, Arizona, Eric Santellis discovered a body in his shed. Luckily, he had an alibi: he'd been in prison when the lady had taken her last breath. Then a second corpse turned up and, surprise, surprise, it was a cop. Instead of being blamed for a murder-or two-Eric began helping the lovely Ruth Atkins investigate her husband's death. But the killer could be closer than they realized. And fi nding him might be their biggest test of faith yet.

What's in a family name?

Eric Santellis has just gotten out of jail and already there are two dead bodies in his shed. Of course, he is instantly a suspect, as the Santellis name is associated with crime. Eric isn't the only suspect, however. Meanwhile, the widow of one of the victims, police officer Ruth Atkins, is determined to find out who murdered her husband. Eric and Ruth will have to work together if they want to catch the murderer. What secrets will be uncovered during their investigation?

THE PRICE OF REDEMPTION follows Eric's story, a character first introduced in PURSUIT OF JUSTICE. While THE PRICE OF REDEMPTION can be read as a stand alone, I felt I was missing pieces about the various relationships that had already been established in the previous book. The number of characters seemed a bit overwhelming; since at least a few of the characters were first introduced in PURSUIT OF JUSTICE, it appears that reading these books in order would help.

The theme of redemption and judgment is prevalent throughout the appropriately named THE PRICE OF REDEMPTION. Ruth's heart has been hardened whereas Eric has suffered from the "sin" of having the last name Santellis. Pamela Tracy offers up some heartfelt lessons about the power of forgiveness. In fact, the emotional and spiritual lessons are far more thought provoking and interesting than the storyline itself.

THE PRICE OF REDEMPTION is a quick read but one worth contemplating the overall themes. The mystery itself is a bit too convoluted and there were some scenes that annoyed me. However, the overall message makes THE PRICE OF REDEMPTION well worth reading.
