I enjoyed the first half of this book with one clue leading to another and I thought, ok, this is the kind of "cozy" I like. The ones where the lead character actually does some research. There are some coincidences thrown in, but for the most part, it seemed to be leading somewhere. Unfortunately, there were some other sub-plots that didn't add to the mystery, and I had hoped to have more actual quilting thrown in. The ending was way too far fetched for me; I realize that this is also a "Christian" book, with the concept that "the Lord works in mysterious ways", but it just didn't work for me. And, the story behind Mollie's disappearance wasn't believable. Even though I did enjoy the beginning, the ending was such a disappointment I feel like reading it was a waste of my time. The concept is great -- the book could have been so much better!
The Patchwork Mysteries have got to my my most favorite of the series by Guideposts since I love to quilt. This series centers around a lady who is a quilt restorer. This was a good book but I think Muslin Mystery was my favorite so far. I probably is best to at least read the 1st book first in order to get to know the characters from the beginning, but you can read the books in any order. Again, this series, as with all the Guideposts series, are written by different authors, but that really doesn't bother me. When I get hooked on the characters of a book, I want to read more!
All in all, this was a fairly good read. The genealogy mystery part of it was a nice surprise for me--that's probably my favorite type of mystery. The first few pages of this title made me wonder if this was going to be more oriented to the preteen level. It seemed rather juvenile. But the style did progress to a more adult level I am happy to say. The ending seemed rushed and abrupt with too many facts and names presented in a short space. I had to go over this scenario several times to really figure out what actually happened. The
ending itself was a bit disappointing because it seemed to happen too fast. A few more details would have been welcome and more satisfying.
The condition is great. and I want to say that when they list it on Amazon they should not state that it's in
large print when it isn't. This was on site I printed it out like I do all my orders it said LARGE PRINT just like
For oNe more day from the other seller.
I was surprised that it was small print. but I'm trying to say that the sellers should be more careful when they
put things on sale and make the descriptions accurate.
I happy with this book and will keep it. The seller just made a mistake and for now it's okay.
And I did find another book For ONe More day from another seller.
Have a good day Thanks
Great book I didn't have this one I am trying to get all of the series Some of my quilting group are reading them too we just love them!!!
This book is just a really, nice "cozy" mystery and I really enjoyed it.
Good clean book. Had mystery and human compassion. Was pleasant reading on a rainy day. Would recommend to one and all.
wonderful stories although they are hard to find. I usually buy one a month and I'm looking forward to having the whole series, then I can start reading them over again.
