I read this book in paperback YEARS ago. I must have have read it more than once because I had highlighted and underlined it so much it was almost totally covered. Along with yellowing of the paper it was basically unreadable! So I had to order it in Kindle so I could read it again.

This is one of the most profound books and helpful books ever written by Watchman Nee. I do not remember reading the book before, but like I said I read YEARS ago, like maybe 25 to 30 or even more years.

Here are just two things that has struck so far in this reading (half way through it):

"Christianity always involves a personal knowledge of God through His Spirit..." "Christianity is a revealed religion, and revelation is always inward, direct, and personal. That was the lesson Peter had to learn (on the Mount of Transfiguration)." "In the Kingdom there is only One Voice to be heard, through whatever medium it speaks." This WHOLE section is something that we REALLY need in the Church TODAY! But it is to long to quote the whole thing.

The second one Nee is talking about leading others to Christ, and gives us a way that is simple, and even effective with ATHEIST! Ask them to pray a prayer asking God to reveal IF He is real and IF Jesus is His Son. Nee talking about a Professor of Philosophy, "...there was one thing and one thing only that I asked of him, and that was that he must be honest. His heart must be in his prayer."

Here is the example of Nee convincing this Professor of Philosophy to at least TRY praying, “Even if you do not believe in a God, just pray. You will discover something.” He laughed. “Pray, when I don’t even believe in a God!” he exclaimed; “How could I?” Then I said, “Though you cannot find a ladder up to God it does not alter the fact that He has come down to find you. You pray!”

READ the book and find out what happened to the Professor... You won't be sorry. God Bless
Over the years I have probably read this book a few times but I have referred to it many times because of the enlivening and enlightening principles it contains. It is not a book of systematic ways or mere logic as the"Preface" makes clear.
This book sheds light on the matter of the NT ministry--a subject regarding which there is an abundance of confusion but a subject about which many believers are concerned because of their desire to be well pleasing to the Lord
(2Corinthians 5:9). Having a NT understanding of "ministry" and "ministers" clears away a lot of fog (Acts 1:17). Take chaps. 8 & 9, Building in Love & Ministering Life--the NT ministry is uniquely one because there is only one Body of Christ but because there are many members that means there are many ministries. My physical body is just one but there are many members and have many services or functions; my eyes do nothing but see, my ears only hear, my legs carry me where I need to go. All this in amazing harmony.
I enjoyed Watchman's insights of the purpose and work of Peter, Paul , and John. He then applies that to us as Christians and God's church. All who call themselves Christians should read this book.
Not only is this book good I am using it to teach a class. Anyone wondering about their calling both individually and corporately should read this book. Watchman Nee is a true brother in the Lord.
Brother Nee is lead of the Lord. This book takes a look at our calling both on an individual level and corporately as a part of the body of Christ. This book and many others by brother Nee should be in our library for quick and constant use.
This may be one of Watchman Nee's best books. Get it now while it is still available. Earlier pressings were sold out quickly.
Very practical
All his books are excellent to grow in spiritual maturity.
