The Light of Christ: Iconography of Gregory Kroug, by the Orthodox priest and iconographer, Andrew Tregubov, is a spiritually profound look at the work of a reclusive monk who was born in Russia, but was part of the Russian religious renaissance in Paris. Fr. Kroug lived from 1909 to 1969. I was given a copy of this book by the author in 2019, 29 years after its publication.
The Light of Christ book. These are clearly influenced by what he learned from Fr. Gregory Kroug, I recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand the role of icons in the devotional life of the Eastern Orthodox Church; to anyone who wants to learn how to "read" them. One will learn more from this volume than just about any other currently on the market. I’m ready to read it again.
