The KJV is still the 2nd best selling English translation of the Bible next to the NIV.

I am not a KJV Onlysit, I wasn't raised on the KJV, and few people at the church I attend use the KJV. I do, however, prefer literal word-for-word translations to paraphrased or so-called dynamic equivalent translations. In Sunday School I got a funny look when I said I was using KJV. However, I got the same looks from people when I was using a NKJV, and even when using NRSV some people thought that was hard to understand. It really seems that people have become spoiled by dumbed-down Bible versions. Without the Holy Spirit no amount of paraphrasing or commentary can make you truly understand God's Word. Nevertheless, the KJV has a lot of archaic words, so the publisher has added center column notes which define those words for modern readers.

There are also the usual features people expect in a study bible including book introductions, center column cross-references, verse-by-verse commentary, and in-text maps. A special feature of this Bible is notes on people and places of the Bible as well as doctrinal notes. The commentary is biased to a fundamentalist dispensationalist perspective, which some will appreciate and others won't. The notes are not KJV Only; there are notes that point out when a verse doesn't appear in the most ancient manuscripts and suggests the reader should not base doctrine on those verses.

The print is not giant, but it is fairly large and dark print, and although there is a good amount of commentary it is not the size of a phone book like some study bibles I have seen. This is one of the main things that attracted me to this Bible.

I read online some complaints about the quality of the regular hardback edition, so I decided to buy the genuine leather edition and am quite pleased. For a genuine leather Bible it is quite affordable.
I really like this Bible--from one who is a Bible collector. I don't have any issues with the translation--it is simply a standard KJV. The margin contains alternative translations, and that is helpful for one who does not always know what the words mean in today's English. It is an older Bible and the leather is not particularly soft and supple, but the quality is excellent for the price.

I had a Scofield Bible for years and my wife has a Ryrie Study Bible. This one is very detailed in the information it contains and I recommend it to any one interested in learning more about the Bible and drawing closer to the Lord. Great for preparing lessons.
This promised to be an older bible produced in 2004. The older bible has wider margins and better print.
It was a bible printed much more recently (within two years). These bibles I can buy now.

I purchased this as a gift for my boyfriend on recommendation from my pastor. When I received it and opened it up I wanted one for myself! It's really a beautiful bible the pictures don't capture that! And my boyfriend loves it! A durable bible for everyday use. He love all of the references and the maps throughout the bible. He says that it really helps him understand more clearly.
This bible is everything I wanted and more in a study bible
there are no words to explain how excited that I am with my study Bible. I have been wanting one for a long time and I am so glad that I have one now. I would recommend it to is a really good Bible with so much extra things to read about each chapter.
